Talk about "charmed"Just a little window on my day: A fellow agreed the other day to buy my truck. He's a friend, so when he said he would be back next week to get it, of course it was ok.
Well, he showed up unannounced today & said he wanted to get the truck & transfer the title. I have been down with the flu for days. I wasn't ready to run into town, but I said I would go get the title & sign it & he could take it to a notary. Nope, I couldn't find the title. Darn, I just saw it the other day.
So, he took the truck & said we'd handle it another day. I went to where I thot the title was, but no, wasn't there. I searched for more than an hour. Nothing. So, I thot, it MUST be in the trash I hadn't taken out yet, even tho today was trash day, but I was sick & didn't feel like it. I'm moving soon & believe me, trash is usually something that mounts by the minute.
I couldn't imagine how it would get in the trash anyway. But I looked there. Son of a gun! There it was. Half-way into the trashcan. Fact is, if I wasn't sick & he didn't come early, it would have been taken away by garbage collector & be in a landfill by now. I wouldn't have been able to sell the truck with no title. The repercusions would be HUGE for me.
How is it the guy came unannounced & early. How is it I wasn't feeling good & didn't take out the trash? Boy! Talk about being protected somehow. If things were as they usually are, I would have thown it away by accident and would have never really known what happened to it. Whew! That was a close one. I don't mind that the envelope has a little spaghetti sauce on it! -- TT I soooo didn't need to lose it right now!
