She told me why

Whenever I mow the lawn on my riding mower, Ursa is outside the whole time (all cattle-fenced in).  For about the first 1/2 hour she plays & runs around.

Then she gets in front of me & stares, which is what she does in the house when she wants something, usually to go outside. But she was doing this when we WERE outside. If I ignore her while we're outside, I see her standing off somewhere with her tail between her legs and her head down. Not a happy creature.

I remembered she had done this everytime I've cut the grass this year.

Then yesterday, we were sitting on the couch & I was talking away to her. I suddenly pictured her outside doing what I described above. I said outloud that I don't know why she signals me to do something for her while I'm on the mower. q25

She gave me a picture of the mower & me on it. "It is too loud!!!!" she said.   OMG.........never thot of that. This is a dog who can hear a mouse move in the far side of basement while she is on the 2nd floor. Terrier.

Too loud, indeed. She said she can take the mower noise for a little while but then needs to get away because it hurts her ears so much. Never never occured to me.  So, now I'll just let her out with me mowing for a little while. She'll be much happier if she doesn't have to listen to that racket. q22  = TT

Makes perfect sense!

Did she show you or "tell" you that it was too loud?
Sage/Debs

Yes a mouse a house hold away, q6  I would think the mower would hurt, so inside at the window now yes?  Kiss her from Auntie Sage.

Well, Boo Boo, i got the words "It is too loud" and at the same instant I could "feel" pain in her ears. Can't really explain what that was. But there was no doubt that is what the problem is.

And Sage, yes, I'll give her a big hug from you. And yes, I plan to take her out with me mowing for about 1/2 hour or so. Then, it's inside to watch me from where it's just a muffled sound instead of a bomb blast.
BooBoo

Thanks for that.......... I think it's helpful for people to know the different ways the animals send messages and the different ways we receive, don't you?
Time Traveler

Yes, I've tried to explain it to people if they ask, but I find it very difficult to relay the process. I never asked for it. It just came. So, I never knew what I was trying for. I'm sure any explanation I've provided has been very inadaquate.

And still, I never know for sure how it's gonna come. I just feel lucky to have been srrounded by so many "gabby" animals!
BooBoo

You're right.  It IS difficult to explain.

I try to tell people (who ask) that if you leave your mind just relaxed and open and a totally unrelated picture or thought comes flooding in while you are with the animal, it is from them. I can tell the difference between my own thoughts/images and their's. Up until about 4 years ago things always came through in pictures, then my mare MeeToo showed me that my mind could also process WORDS. Ever since that experience with her, the sentences  have been happening more and more.
Sage/Debs

Exactly how it began for me, now the images are always accompanied by "captions" q5

Sometimes I get words. Sometimes images. Sometimes emotions.  Sometimes I get first-hand feelings, like in the case of Ursa's ears hurting.

Of course, there's always body language for animals, but you need more to know what that means sometimes. They communicate in more ways than we do!

I've often overheard what one animal is saying to another! (and it's not always pretty.)  Sometimes I hear from an animal that I'm not expecting to hear from as when I was visiting my younger son & his cat, who never seemed to like me at all, spoke up.  She was sitting near a corner behind the couch & suddenly said, with disgust, "That DOG gets all the attention!"

I told my son & his girlfriend & they said they didn't realize they were playing favorites, but admitted they were. It was straightened out. This was from an animal I never thot would give me a thot! Here she said something to me. And in words.

Oops! That was me -- TT.  I forgot to sign in before I posted.

Yes! That just happened to me yesterday! And I was able to share it with Larry just as it happened........Two of our llamas were at the gate begging for treats. (Maizey and Blackbird. Maizey was imprinted on more as a baby so she comes up for nose-kisses.)  I gave them each a little bit of grain and then Larry gave them each a handfull of hay.........As Larry walked away, Maizey pinned her ears at Blackbird to push her off and said, "THEY love ME best!"  LOL!!!
