Sarcasm reignsYep, Ursa again. Can ya stand one more story?
This a.m., Ursa & I came downstairs from bed. She parked herself on a throwrug in the foyer. She usually goes directly to the kitchen door to make her trip outside.
I called her, but she just stayed on the rug and smiled, wagged her tail. Wouldn't move, but was polite about it. I clapped etc., no go.
I finallly talked her into going outside, but she just stayed on the porch & never went down to "do it." I left her out there 5 min. or so, but nothing.
I brought her back in & gave her the usual treat.
After a while, I realized that she had been taking a stand by laying on the rug & not going outside. But she was TELLING me she didn't want to go outside. She ALWAYS has to go outside first thing.
I then said to her, "Sorry, I just didn't get it. I just didn't understand what you were trying to tell me. I should have been more aware."
She then asked to go sit on the front porch, for which I have to open the door. I said outloud, you do have me pretty well trained, maybe not the best trained human but pretty well trained. She actaully turned & said in her way............"Aw, you're comin' along."
Please forgive me going on about her, but I've never lived with a consistantly sarcastic animal before. Occassionally, I might have heard something sarcastic from the horses when I had them, but Ursa blows my mind.
Anybody else living with a little wise guy? Not a mean one, but playful one, like a good friend would be?

Well as I've said...having met Ursa, she is very human. I can just see her look at you, smile and say that, then go out.
I do have one, my Kasha...each day she looks deep into my eyes and says...."another day...sigh...think I can stay?" It will take alot of time yet for her to completely trust..especially because I just had her spayed. When I put her in that kennel at the vets..she went laid down and said, "well good bye" and I assured her I'd be back. The next day I called for her down the hall as I walked to her kennel and she smiled SO big! 80 lbs of doberchild in one's lap is something!

Ahh, sweet Kasha! She seems to have entered your life just when you needed her, even tho maybe you didn't realize it right then. AND vice versa. How lucky you both are. Now that your horses are gone, I'm betting she plays a great big part.
People sometimes say about Ursa, that I saved her life. But, oh, she came just at the right time and believe me, she saved mine as well.
I can just picture Kasha smiling a big smile when you returned. Wait, for some reason, my cheeks are a little wet.....I can feel the complete happiness from both of you in the story.

Not sure how I missed this
I have a very sarcastic bird.....Tweet is a smart ass all the way around. He is also highly opinionated and a bit of a vouyer (well he does live in the bathroom).
Ruby is a wise ass in fact she is a bit like a spoiled child at times. And it is hard to reprimand her because she is so dang funny when being obstinate. She will do things like run off when we get out the brushes but dog forbid we brush another , she will push her way in between and say "brush me" and this is the game we play. She also likes to sit on the couch and sort of dare us to tell her to get off (she is allowed on the couch so it really doesn't make sense). And yes she does know how to flip a human off....the other night in fact I told hubby he must have said something wrong cuz she gave him the bird
