Reiki llI have a couple new students entering their Level ll.
I am sure it would be helpful if those that can and do, maybe shared their ways of sending.
I remember being new to Level ll and thinking..."how am I s'possed to do this?"
In time I figured it out and now all I need do is think it and it is on.
I love pictures, human or animal, helps with that bond but not needed. I think of what needs tending and take myself to them if I can and Reiki them as I would in hand.
I have done distance over the telephone, via Messenger, over the internet and laying in bed switching it on using myself as surrogate as well, or the teddy! lamb! cat! I do like surrogates at times.
The symbols..I used it in the beginning alot, now only if I find it difficult to get into the being.
All questions and ways are most welcome.
There won't be any censoring or contradicting by me, we're all here to learn.

I suggest different ways of sending.
Writing the name on paper and holding it between the hands
Visualising the healee in front of them and holding hands up towards.
Holding anything, ball, soft toy, pillow in hands.
I have teddies and soft dolls.
Some small that you can hold easily between two hands and some about 18"/20"
The small ones I hold and just reiki til finished.
The larger I do a full body on, ie; forehead and back of head, both sides of crown, over ears, either side of forehead, etc.
I definately agree symbols are not needed, but personally I feel it enhances/strenghtens the healing, as does asking guides, ascended masters to help does.
I also tune in to the healee now, I did not do that when I started sending, nor was I taught to.
Love mia xx

Ah Mia, I love the surrogates as well. I seem to find one for each person I teach, as well as those I send to to help. Example..one student was a stuffed lamb, another a cat with glasses..go figure, another a large bear...yet one more a dog....Something about the tactile feel of it beneath my hands makes the connection deeper...but not always necessary as when I have a picture on screen or in hand, then all I need it intent and it flies where needed.

Here's a question for you........
Ever known of a "Reiki Pet"???
I know a Reiki Master who has one and people who visit her just will hold it and hold it and marvel over how good the animal makes them feel. (I can't remember if it's a dog or cat.)

I know of someone who attuned her 3 dogs to reiki 1 and 11 .........

Since I'm only a Reiki II, I don't know how to attune, but I have bathed my cat "Soloman" in Reiki and he just seems to "know" where to cuddle on both Larry or me when we need him.........Funny little guy. I call him my "Reiki Cat".

I finally read this thread, altho it is an old one. Something called me to it.
I think URSA knows Reiki. For example, just a few minutes ago, I was having a heck of a time trying to put a mini blind back up in a window. It had fallen down for no reason & was refusing to stay where it has been for months. Finally, I got it to stay up there, but had spent about 10 minutes stretching my torn rotator cuff to the max. I was very frustrated and painful.
I plopped down on the couch and there immediately came Ursa with that look she gets with her ears laying flat back against her head & her big eyes coming at me. She pushed herself under my arm & laid down. I immediately felt better & lighter. Heck of a dog! (oops, I didn't mean that, Ursa) Um,,,,, heck of a spirit.
Anyways, I'm thinking, maybe it is finally time for me to learn Reiki. I've used my own brand of it on animals when they needed energy badly for one reason or another. I don't have any idea what is really done. But my little efforts seemed to have helped. A local college had offered a class on Reiki for Pets, but it was cancelled due to low enrollment.
I dunno, is it time, Sage???? -- tt

My dear TT, if you seek, it may well be and you know I am a willing guide for this journey if you wish it. AND Ursa does heal..it may not be called Reiki but in another life she was a healer...you know she is such an old soul, gotta love that child..she knew you hurt and she helped just as you help her,
How I smile...when you are ready, just come and ask...distance means nothing to Reiki and it's energy..I can help from here, of course you are most welcome in the hollow anytime if you'd like in person. First you need a surrogate....a bear, a dog, something you can hold, might as well get one for Ursa too...and we will begin when the time is...

TT -- If you are "thinking" about it, I bet it's time. (nodding)
I just read the ENTIRE thread too......... duh.......I'm sorry, Sage.
You asked how some of us "send"? I do it a couple of different ways. One is by sitting with a list of names and I use the symbols. I also do it over the internet with the help of pictures.
One thing I've noticed is that when I am sending via the internet, I find myself holding out my hands, cupping my palms. Does anyone else do that?
Have never tried the surrogate method.

Well now I am second level I still send essentially the same as before......I go to the person and lay hands on them....now in reality I usually am laying on my bed and laying my hands on myself (I am my own surrogate) but my mind is actually with the person. Now if I am sending a more random to everyone who needs it...I think of each person and then just go through the same process using myself as the surrogate....
its funny I have a million stuffed animals in trash bags in the shop and yet not one feels right for reiki.....it just sort of works for me to use myself. I sometimes use the symbols sometimes not I don't really have them well memorized so i have to look them up which distracts my flow so usually do not use them.

Thank you, Sage. When I'm ready, I'll let you know. I feel I have to clear a few things up first, so I can concentrate & give study the time it deserves. == tt

and Sage is an excellent teacher always there for the questions that crop up....
TT I think you will find that it does sort of find ways to get your attention......I contemplated the reiki for well over a year before I began feeling like it was something I might want to pursue...then it started just sort of popping up over and over....it was probably one of the best things I have ever done...it has not been easy but change and growth never is easy....

Got this today and it seems to fit this discussion nicely:
Look for teachings that arouse new feelings in you. You can look to poets, artists, or spiritual teachers with whom you are not familiar, keeping an open mind to their words and ideas. Remember that you can find teachers in places you may not expect. If you embrace fresh ideas, most everything you find can lead you into a new direction.
When we look for new ways of thinking in unfamiliar places, we become open to a world beyond what we know and gain deeper ways to expand our worldview.
Often we may want to find inspiration in the teachings of those we know. Their ideas may give us a comfort and assurance about the world, which matches our own. But if we find ways to go beyond the known and explore different ways of thinking, our intellect is aroused. Our curiosity leads us to other paths we may not have otherwise explored. We in turn find numerous insights that help us better understand life and give us the means to deepen our vision. By searching for new ideas, you will find revelations that will expand your world.
