I have never had a class in all the time I have been a Reiki practioner, I wonder...is that a good thing or it doesn't matter. I took to it right away, my teacher/master suggested some good books and alot of internet investigating. I jumped in feet first and began swimming.

I am being drawn hugely to work for my masters but need to know the way.....hard to explain....here where I live....it is difficult to find a master to "teach". I am looking subtly, but as I was told on NLH the right one will come along in the right time so I am not rushing but seeking answers to questions.

When you, as a Reiki person send....can you share your way of doing so?

I find recieving a very intense experience. I am often very curious what the other person sees and feels when recieving the Reiki. I get true physical feelings and colors as the chakras are being moved and cleansed and reset.

If it were me going for my Masters Attunement, I would want to have the instruction done in person. But that's just me.

When I receive, I feel warmth and a lot of peace.

When I've done Reiki to others, I've been told by different people that they each feel something different..........Some feel heat and peace. Some feel tingling. And one person felt the warmth, the tingling, and then felt itchy!

Yup, I'd like some guidance. I do have someone giving me a bit of guidance and help but I have to trust that the time will come when it is time. I want to know so much still about distance healing.

How long does a session last for a sender...mine are usually 30-60 minutes. How does one send the energy? Just by thought and intent or like I do with something tangible...just works for me. What if a sender recieves some sort of vision or message...is that supposed to happen? and what could it mean?

I had a long distance session where I was the reciever. Not something I'm used to as I'm usually the one sending. Yesterday afternoon S sent to me....it was great connection..I felt the woosy thing and my heart sped up...so I knew she was there...it was quiet and comfortable...I saw deep black amethyst color, touches on my legs and feet..then it got cold and I knew it was done. Then she contacted me to say she had this vision of a little old japanese man saying something like "beast emerges" or "be..sm...merges" she just can't remember clearly for sure then she got a kind of slap that spun her head to one side and the connection was cut.

Now how weird is that! Talk about questions...I've been trying to figure that out all nite and today. My neck aches which it shouldn't considering al the Reiki work it has gotten these last couple days.

I had another session from another healer, that one's more private but it was almost like an attunement in feeling...each chakra's color spun behind my eyes, it was the most incredible session I have ever experienced.

I posted this on Northern Lights Healing and figured I'd bring it here as well. Some of us are Reiki practitoners, some are just beginning and learning so:

A few questions....how long are your long distance sessions on average?
Mine are usually 30 to 60 minutes but have gone longer and shorter depending on the need

Have you a way, a routine of preparing and sending?
You know I do things (ALL things) a bit differently, I can use my bear as a surrogate, I have used an owner's hands on her horse once (THAT was cool) and on the phone, I can just send but I make a huge ceremony out of it...if just feels right for me that (those) way. I lite incense, put on a CD that helps me achieve a nice quiet state, put away the furkids, and curl up in my big chair to send, to recieve I do the same but lay down.

Do you like to know the after effects of your treatments?
I do but most of my feedback is during the session

Have you encountered someone that you just cannot share Reiki with?
I did and finally had to refer him elsewhere but I did warn that "master" about my feelings and left her to decide for herself.

Do you feel classes are better to learn properly or do you feel the Reiki does it's own with you as it's vessel?
Never had a class ever, my master just said go forth and heal. To trust myself and my natural abilites and the Reiki would grow. She also said I would know when it was time for my 2nd and that was true. SpiritHealer and this forum have helped me greatly and I am trusting I will know the right time for my master...but I am wondering if classes would be best for that level.

I like the fact that we took the class for Level One. It gave us a foundation. We were taught where to do the formal hand placements in person and ON a person. Yes, I also have a couple of books that show what to do, but it's still nice to do it on a live person with your Master advising.

For long distance (Reiki Two) I have never done it like you do. I have never advertised as a Practitioner, so when I do it it's for friends or friends of friends. I close myself off in our bedroom, light a candle, usually have my stones with me, and meditate. (Both Larry and Bri are warned not to enter during that time and all animals are closed out too.) I have always made a list of names that I want to give Reiki to and work through my list - one at a time. Have never noticed how long it takes for each person because each tends to be different in their need. Hope that makes sense......

I wasn't concerned about classes for the levels 1&2

I have never used the hand positions cuz my old body just can't get to most of them on me and with clients my hands begin at the toes and work up so I use no positional hands again....then again..you know I'm a bit odd and different yes?

Funny, Debs......But NO, you are not different or odd.........believe it or not.

Over the years, I've learned that more of us than not don't do the formal method that we were taught initially. I don't know about you, but I go where I'm "pulled" and where the need is. I've since learned from a gal who is a Master that she does the same thing. Once in awhile, I am unable to "read" a person (it usually means that their problem is not just physical), so I do a sort of a "general" all over scan and send INTENT out overall with the understanding that the Energy will find its way to where it is most needed.
(I use Prayer the same way.)

Hi Chrystal,

My Long Distance Reiki is a ceremony. I am also certfified Ama Deus Shamanic Healing and reall lover to give people my all. I explain to all Long Distance what I will be doing, so they have the opportunity to tell me if there is something they don't want to to do. Also to let them know it will take about 60 minutes, sometimes more depending on what I am finding.

I wera black for protect and have a beautiful blaak silk scarf from Japan that I place down first. I like Frankenscense and cleanse the room and smudge myself. I light candles and playing either *new age * music or classical (I actually ask the person what they like) I like to have a picture of the person if possible and place that on the black scarf. Then I go into my crystals (tumbler size) and ask which one is meant for *persn*'s root chakra and continue for each chakra to crown. I am always amazed how much just this tell me about the person. The I say prayer asking guidence, and protection for self and person and that all is for the highest good. Then I start activating the reiki and go from feet up. When I have finshed the crown, I use the Whirlwing teachniques to full cleanse the column, the the Violet Fame, the Golden Flame. I go back to each chakra, pick up the stone and check with my pendulum, sometimes I need to preform Psychic Surgery to remove stubborn blockages and check for cords and attachment. Then I do this for all chakras. After that I scan again checking to see where more reiki needs to go. I do the Native Amercian Emtional Releae sometimes, but always end with checking the arua by performing Angelic Light Weaving, sweep with a beautiful feather and ground the feet. The I hthank my angels, guides and ascending master for guiding me, and ask that all anergy that doesn't belong to me , be disperse where it will do not harm, and ask that I then be filled with the white light and unconditonal love. I have never had a problem with any negative energy hanging on to me, or weird attachment or entities.

I like to analyze the positions of the crystals and their meaning as well as what I found during the session. Depending how much they understand, I try to get on IM and discuss issues and ask the person how they are feeling.

I have had an indivudal I could not give reiki to. That ick feeling.

I like combined self paced learning and in person classes for that hands on experience.

10 minutes to an hour...and same as other's probably shorter or longer....I have also * finished * my end but have been told that the recipient actually had it there for much longer!!....

Yes and No.......hahahahaa
if its a 1-2-1 and timed and also a group send I tend to set myself as I would a treatment..ie connect in say the Gokai and ask for the healing to be recieved and used for the highest good...

Other times I just kick in and send...especially the 3 oclock wake up ones!! Mind you those I have alredy kicked in and am roasting!!!

Both in some ways......in classes you have a chance to share experiences and share treatments etc.....oh and gossip!!!!

I tend to say that working with it is the way you learn....coz we dont all fit in with the
* book* way at times.......

Yes I can go with that......and those energies ARE moving and moving very fast hun......Hold on tight going to be a fast bumpy ride !!!!!!

Hello Just a couple of thoughts.

i dont send Reiki anymore i give the energy, as we are all one, the distant symbol or any other way of connecting brings your energies together, therefore you dont need to send, just give, they are right there with you.

havent worded that very well.

i use my legs, if im sending to two people then they have a leg each - the knee is the head area the thigh the body and then the top of the leg the legs.

i like to light a candle put mostly dont these days, i cleanse and protect the room often protecting myself, the person im sending to the room the house and on occasions the street with a glass dome, sometimes white sometimes blue.

sometimes i dont protect not really assessed why though, maybe to eager to get going!!!

if my hands react then they stay there.

i would go for classes if you can get them, or if you cant then get attuned and start a Reiki share and learn from each other.

once you are attuned to master, you find the energies are that much stronger and therefore last less, some say you can send a whole hours treatment in 10 minutes, i have done this but some still last more than 30 mins. trouble is i usually forget what time i started and an hour can feel like 2 seconds.

I do love to hear how others do their Reiki for themselves and otherfolk!
I alos use scent, and music, and prepare me first. As for symbols....I know them and use them here and there but many times I don't. Not sure if that is "Reiki Proper" but many times I am needed in an emergency and have no time to draw them and just turn it on and send. Works for me q18

I may be wrong here........but, once you receive attunement at any level, the important thing is INTENT.

No you are not wrong, but I'm not sure what you mean for a point...the
intent and the rituals one chooses to perform that intent is what is paramount for each individual to do their own REiki and that for others.

I think intent is the important part of any modality in experiments they couldnt understand why one way would work for one person and yet it would also work another way.

I think before anyone considers getting a Master level attunement one should have done a lot of Reiki on a lot of differnet people.
I have friend who wanted the Master attunement from me and I refused because I knew she wasn't ready.
She became furious with me and went to someone else paid the fee and got it.
She ended up in a .......well in a terrible situation.
She got what she wanted alright which was to be able to say I am a master, but she paid dearly for it emotionally and physically I am still working on her more than a year later.
You definitely should have in person classes and do a lot of classes in a person to person situation.with a certified instructor.
I could make quite a bit of money doing things the easy way, but I have seen the results of the people coming in and doing a weekend school.
I have had to work on the people after these people come in for the weekend make a bunch of money and fly out and leave these poor people
with no one to help them with the messes these money hungry Masters leave.
After a dozen or so years you kind of see it all and know what's going to happen down the road, but people want it quick and fast and to hell with doing things right.
And doing what is right for the people in the long run.
This is JMO
Take classes in person and wait until you have done lots and lots of Reiki on a lot of different people and have had a lot of experience and had a lot of things happen so you will know what to do in just about any situation.

I am in no hurry and will find the right person to guide me long...I always trust my guides and when the time is right it wil happen for me. I am always searching and looking to learn everything I can that relates to all that I do and want to do.

As SpiritHealer said, I'll know when the time is right and when the master is the "one", be in long distance or in class. The important thing is to keep asking questions and learning and growing and doing the Reiki.

The money thing is a burr under my saddle for sure. Masters, even levels 1 & 2 are so ridiculously expensive that it leaves many out of the wonder of Reiki. As Gillie said US classes are way high priced. I look about and see such high prices and have to wonder.."why"? I will always be grateful for my Levels 1 & 2...I am whole new person and I love my new life.

I was not talking about you Deb or anyone else personally, just expressing my opinion like everyone else was.

I do not have a fixed fee for Masters level, I try to be fair to my clients I have gotten full price and have "given" it to some I felt needed it and were ready.

I was about 5 years getting my Masters,as I did not feel I was ready until then. I did at least 1 session a day and weekends many more and unfortunately I did not get a price break.
BUT that was my journey,my path, and everyone else will walk their own.

And it was my pleasure to give you your reiki 1 and Reiki 2!

Not all of us here charge a great price. There are many on internet that promise great deals..and some are collegues that have resorted to this form of cheap teaching, only because they want to spread Reiki. I charge $50 a level then $150 for Master/teacher.Why the difference? At this level I will continue with a student for at least one year, if not life, and as my m/t, I will give new knowledge and free attunements.

I also give scholarships for those that do not have money but demonstrate a true deisire. I don't just give it out, I have a lengthy interview.
