Questions for ya - photos addedHi all -- I'm back from my awayness, bearing stones & crystals. One has presented a small problem for me tho. I purchased an unfinished "stone" from a dealer who had bought it in a big lot of stones. The others were all tumbled, but this one was not.It's, shall we say, still in the eggshell. It's rounded & tumbling was begun, but never down the the item itself. It's about the size & shape of a golfball. It's a dull grey, but you can see something is striped inside. It has dings and scrapes on it, as if the tumbling was in progress, but the stone was not finished. I don't know what's inside, but another dealer was guessing possibly blue lace agate. So, here's my problem: How do I get this thing to it's finished state? Do I get the tumbling finished? If so, how would I get that done? Any idea how much this costs? Here's the best part: The thing only cost me 75 cents! The seller just didn't want to be bothered with it & when I told her I was a pauper & couldn't afford anything she had, she pointed me towards a basket of bobbles. Right now, it looks like a ball of Playdoh. Any suggestions for me?

Gosh, it feel like a chalcedony.....our PepiPony tumbles...ask her! otherwise I just don't know...one day I hope to have a tumbler, course you really need 3 to change each one to until it finishes. |

I can't answer any of your questions, but it's a very cool stone! I love it ;) Even in that rough form. Can't wait to see what becomes of it after tumbling..... |

StoneI am just beginning into the tumbling. Hubby bought me a huge pro grade tumbler and slabber for Christmas, used the slabber, not the tumbler LOL It needs 8 lps of rough LOLANyhow, if you like, I can try to tumble it for you, no guarantees. Kinda looks like it is a geode with blue lace agate? What about cutting it in half and seeing if there is quartz inside?
