Well.....I found a couple of feathers again this morning.......but the owls aren't up in the Willow.
Yesterday, the young one was in the back yard Willow. The mom was in the front yard Willow. I think there's some weaning going on.......

She is beautiful but being supertitious as I am an owl seen in daylight portends misfortune but then again I won't walk under a ladder or open an umbrella in the house. My mom's legacy continues, lol.

The teaching of children
Should be done by the grandparents
While the parents work
This is the way of the Indian
This is a better balance of education
And a way of improved learning
And a reduction of supertitious
For they have learned there life lessons
However, there children are still learning

Ah Hermie that should be the way but my grandmother was much worse in the superstition department than my mother. Where do you think my mother learned those superstitions to pass along to me? And her mother before her and so on and so on.
Not so much the way of the Native American in this country anymore that the elders raise the children at least not in this part of the country. The old ways will continue to pass away, sometimes the superstitions are the only remnants of what was.
I've been doing some research into the science of memes which for lack of a better explanation means we have beliefs implanted into us from all sources and we evolve them into our personal truths. Memes, to me is another exlanation of why I do what we I do and where those thoughts originate. That humanity has progressed at all seems to be mostly due to realizing we all have them and that the ones that destruct us the most can be overwritten if we choose. Some of my superstitions are as natural as breathing so I rarely question them. They are a part of my intuitive process so I guess that is my part of reluctance to banish them another being the remembrance to my mother when I encounter something she held strong beliefs about. Probably another meme at work to protect that aspect of my belief system, lol.
