as long as you can keep him eating and warm it should turn out fine.....sending to the little tike.... he's a terrier they are tough as nails and don't give up....tenacity

He is in a warm wrap on my lap Mia and will go everywhere with me. I'm committed. Who needs sleep haha luckily tomorrow is my day off so IF he makes it thru the night we can get on a schedule like I did with my Belle years ago..course she was a rottie! |

I stopped my friend Edna's to drop off some clothes for her grandson (5 of em coming to visit) and she was all frantic cuz her bitch had died and there were 5. She was trying to bottle feed the 4 but she said one was too cold and was gonna die so she folded him in a towel. Well, I quietly asked if I could try and she handed him over.
Funny one of my wishes was for a new man in my life  wasn't counting on a puppy but I had to try. I took him to the shop and risked putting him under warm running water to bring his temp up, then dried him. Went to the physical therapy room and asked if I could borrow a heater and they did, all ooohing and kept reheating it all day.
Told me I could borrow it so I am home now, pot of water on the slow cooker so I can put the packets in to reheat. Last feed he suckled! Pooped and peed and is still asleep, he is all pink now and wiggly.  If I can keep him alive for the next 48 hrs he has a great chance. Sigh, I love him already.

Cool idea !! Did you get him some puppy milk replacer? If he is actively nursing then he has a very good chance. Did he get moms colostrum? What do the other dogs think??A heating pad on low does good for keeping them warm. Done it many times leave a corner where he can get off and they will snuggle to the warmth when they start getting cool. When we had the kennel we almost always had a pup or two in the house for helping need to ask Edna if the mom had been wormed. A mild wormer at 7 to 10 days is a good idea if you aren't sure. Oh he is a cutie.

I bought a bottle and puppy milk from the vet in town. He was born the 17th so he did get mom's colostrum and antibodies. Dam was wormed and up to date but I do plan to keep on top of him. No heating pad but I do have one of heated/vibrating chair things for pain. Kasha is not to sure but being very good ignoring him for now. I do hope I can keep him. Edna had gone to the shop but I went home, she was gonna clip his tail  . I know she raised this litter to sell but I did save his wittle life and am now lovin him so we shall see. Thanks for all the support. Andrew and I thank you.

Ma you and I are so linked! I bought a purse that is like a backpack snuggli. He has slept for 2 hrs now and should be waking for his feed soon. Thanks my friend!

Andrew made it thru the night. I fed him at 10pm, 12 midnight, 3 am, 6am and 8am so far. He's peeing like a race horse before and after each bottle. Poops after and I have found poop in his bedding so his belly is working. Today he is 5 days old.
He whines when he is hungry now  or he has to potty  so I think we are doing pretty great. I went to bed at 10 right after I fed and went back to sleep each time til 8am. Today is my day off so we shall see how we do.
Thanks so much for all your love. Mia, I am hoping to keep him, won't cost a thing. Edna is my only human friend (so far) and I am hoping that she will see that as they had given up hope he was good as dead til me, and lost anyways. Nope, I do not need this work, a new puppy at all but Spirit chose to have me stop there at that moment in time and arranged for me to save him, must be a lesson there somewhere so I can work with it.

Oh Sage -- I'm so happy for you. And for Andy. Kismet? Yes, I think so. It's an awesome responsibility as we both know, but I am sure I would be the same as you. Must save him! And you seem to be doing so.
He'll always know it was you. And there would be no justice if he were to be returned to Edna, who may be a wonderful person, but who regarded him as a lost cause. I hope he's yours forever. Best wishes to you both. And definitely light going to his little body & soul. -- tt |

Little Andrew is still with us. I was a bit nervous this morning, he usually whines to wake me and I woke at 6:30, almost 6 hours since his last feed BUT he was sleeping and warm in his nest and ate a whole 1/2 ounce! Gotta go to work today so he will too. Thanks for asking, so far so good. | ||

Day 2 with Andrew...he is eating more aggressively and pooping freely still needs a bit a help with the waterworks tho. I do think he's grown.
He is having swelling in the eyes and they are not open yet. I cleansed them and they leaked a foul discharge so I am using milk (the old school way) to clean them and a soaked tea bag to soothe. Being they are still sealed I can't get ointment in them but he had tons of Reiki today from so many folks (what a day) and he has become quite a celebrity. More tomorrow, thank you so much for all your love and care..if he makes it thu the weekend I will let him on the puter and he can talk to you himself.

Andrew is almost 3 weeks old. We almost lost him last Friday but the vet said if he made this week he'd be fine cept for his blindness.
He is improving each day. He eats like a piglet almost an ounce per feeding and about every 3-4 hours now. He is blind (no eye) in his right and we are watching the left. I am putting moisture drops in both eyes for now. Not too sure what vets do for an eye socket without a ball...in the meantime we wait. I ordered in an anklet with bells just in case. God help me, this will be a handful but look at him...ain't he just the cutest! |

I am so very, very happy for you .......... and us. Yes, he will be hard work, but I and you know you will cope, just as you always have with whatever comes your way. Andrew is with you for a reason.
