Want more just ask but this is a good beginning.  On the Red Road one does not have to be born to it, one can learn it and live it and walk it in beauty and in a good way.  You should always begin with the Medicine Wheel and the 7 directions.   I will copy and paste my own for you tomorrow.

I have got as far as Native American Culture.

I have ordered the book recommended by Boo Boo, Black Elks one.

So I can give that one a miss.

I am unsure about the Medicine Wheel.

It says the wheel is a mirror, where we can see inside ourselves.

To see where we are and what needs 'sorting' etc.

It says much more.

So how?

I think it means one makes a circle and sit in the centre, believing all above to be so, cos the circle is made with intention of it being a Medicine/Sacred Wheel, so the med one has will reveal all one wants to know.

Is this right?

Very good interpretation in simple terms.  It takes a loooong time to learn the wheel so just take in small doses and one piece at at time. The 7 directions is paramount to all of it.  East, South, West, North, Above (Spirit), Below (Mother Earth) and YOU, middle plain with the light within.

You're really reading alot!  Take your time, it takes a while to abosrb it all.  There is SO much info out there and I can recommend other books also.  have you a library?
mia

Actually I have ordered 3 books.

Black Elk Speaks
The Wisdom of the Native Americans
Mother Earth Spirituality: Native American Paths to Healing
Ourselves and Our World

Yes, we have a library, but it's in town and I rarely go into town.

I understand the 7 directions and did practise it. Sos I remember the sequence in the morning.

And I printed out bits which caught my attention sos I can read them again.

It's interesting Sage. I couldn't read it if it wasn't interesting to me.

And like I said I resonate with much of the teachings.

Now off to bed.

Many thanks for your help.

Love you xx

You're so welcome, I can feel your light brighten already.

I did the honouring of the 7 directions last night in my garden before retiring.
Cos I have much to do before going to work in the morning and I do enjoy my morn med, g+p etc.
Anyways, whilst doing the 'honouring' I realised I was making a wheel and I was the hub! Fascinating!
And my face was held by a strong energy, like when your hands get stuck on someones body prior to a healing being finished.
My wolves (two this time) sat in front, with their tongues hanging out, watching me expectantly :)
I am enjoying this.
Thank you again lady xxx

Now Mia, you begin the walk in beauty.   I had "not said" exactly what you felt.  You are the wheel, you create it's beginnings by being the hub as you thank the 7.  Excellent!  Remember in the nite then to begin in the west, thank for the gift of that day and continue then to the North, then East, then South.  You are most welcome..I do not do so much just point here and there, show you a sign, gently nudge.
