My hubby the goat whisperer

Today, I learned something new about our lil goat.  He's not been eating all his grain mix when I feed.  I just thought he was not into it lately as sometimes an animal will change their preferences.

I mentioned it to hubby and he said matter of factly, Jack wants his beets on one side and the grain on the other.  I asked him how he knew this and he said he didn't know but that's the way it has to be for him.

So tonight, I dutifully placed his beets on one side and his grain on the other and Jack dove into it.  Funny how sometimes they only speak to one person, perhaps the one who is most open to them at the moment. I guess I haven't been listening lately.  q9

Well how about that!  Well done for him!   Sometimes life gets loud for us my friend, and our chores become just that and you have so many to love...Have we seen your Jack?  I seem to remember a while back your getting him and a pic.
Shirley

Here he is in all his goatly glory.  He rules the place for the most part and we are his subjects, lol.

Oh, you have made me laugh.......Thank you!

That was wonderful about your "Goat Whisperer Hubby"........

I think it is true, though.  Some animals "connect" more to a person than another, if that person is open to it.  It's happened to MY hubby too and he doesn't claim to have any ability either.  q5

Wonderful story sounds like my husband, i do all the learning he comes along and just does it q25

Oh! Isn't he adorable and yes, he definitely has strong opinions!

Lovely story, made me smile :)
My daughter is like that with her rats.
She instinctly knows what they need.

Love mia xx

Love the goat Jack and his attitude...I'm sure he makes everyone laugh all the time.  I've always wanted a goat but DH won't let me.  One day I will have one and he or she will be special.  Thank you for sharing.

Yep that sounds like a goat  q5

They can be quite opinionated about how things must be.  Do you put out loose minerals and baking soda for him (also seperately)?

Love that you hubby is the one who speaks goat  q18

Jack is pretty cute  q13

Yes those have been in those little double feeders from the first day.  I've changed them out several times because I know goats like them fresh but the little stinker hasn't touched them yet.

Only one of my animals, the old mare, ever touches their salt or minerals, must be enough in their feed or supplements to satisfy them.

Hubby said tonight that Jack wants me to buy him a new boat, I think he's carrying this goat speak a little too far.  What would Jack possibly want with a new boat, lol.  q25  q2

To eat it!!  :)

hmmm..when I was a child Shirley I had goats and baby "boats" for some reason I couldn't say baby goats. LOL q5  Tell your hubby that perhaps he is asking for more goats and not literally a boat!!  q5

Well maybe Jack heard how much our goat liked scratching on my hubby's boat  q5  q5  hubby sure didn't like it.

Or maybe Jack wants to be the first fishing goat  :q26:

maybe tell the hubby he can get that boat BUT must take the goat with him every time he uses it  q27  q27

Jack will probably need an extra large sized doggy life jacket......that there is the perfect gift for your hubby  q5  q5   ideal xmas prank

Oh yes!  Love this, you have such a wonderful imagination..go with this, I hope you do, can't wait to see what comes of the goat boat.

Shirley, I dreamt of Jack last night..how is he doing?
Shirley

He is doing good Sage but he certainly has been having an attitude lately.  I've had to tweak his ear when he gets snotty just like a matriach herd doe to make him behave.  The weather's been bad so he doesn't get out except for daily walks or in one of the horse pens.  I really need to find him a goat buddy so he can play in a more positive way instead of head butting or trying to mount.  He's really been a little terror and I can't wait for spring so we can build his new pen.  A 12x12 horse stall is not cutting it!

We had the same trouble with Tiger even tho he was wether.  He loved the horses, big and small, but really wanted a wresting partner so we let him go to a lady with 2 more and he was so happy.   I am glad Jack is all better and a pain in the  q7  again tho!  Warm hugs q13
