Just a discussion...so many wish they could

I was having a thought yesterday.... q5 no puter ya know...had to do things like read and think! q9

I have several clients that say, "I wish I could understand or read my pet, horse, whatever....like you can."

I wonder..."why can't they?"  Just the instinctual stuff...happy?  healthy?  like or dislike the other furfolk they share life with?  Much of that is just natural to me...is it for others?

I am so often asked...can you just check so and so....many times I can and do BUT I always encourage them to open themselves to hearing the furfolk as well.  It is difficult to say no to anyone when they ask but sometimes one has to draw a line...I keep my prices very affordable and many times do them for free.  I've only been bitten in the q7 once over it.  It's just one of the little things I do amidst all the other "stuff."

Dogs are pretty easy, cats a bit more of a challenge and horses!  Well horses are both mystifying and easy depending on the circumstances.  I love doing horses.

I don't tout myself an animal communicator, I use the word "empath".  I can and do get things from animals.  I can often feel how they feel, if something hurts, or feels good.  Many times the pregnant ones can share a bad time, kid's pinching a nerve or sitting heavy and with a bit of Reiki or guiding accupresure or massage from the owner where I tell them, they feel better.

I guess even tho there are some who don't think I can do this (or should) I won't hide my light under a bushel (so to speak).  I can and do empathize with others and if this helps them I am quite content.

I find if the person who wishes just quiets their mind and worries and listens many times they'll hear or feel something.  While it is a gift and I love it, I don't think it is reserved for the few.

Many of us here on the Path empathize and hear and even communicate with our animals and others as well.  It is a wondrous gift sometimes one that hurts as well...as many of us know too well.

I just thought a thread sharing experiences and opinions on this "communicating" would be helpful to those who do it, think they can or wish they could.

What do you "feel"?

I agree with you.  I believe EVERYONE has the capacity to "connect" with their animals at some level........as you said, if they "quiet their minds".....

Sometimes, our pets have been communicating to us all along and we've not realized that a sudden "thought" that's popped into our mind is not our own!

I discovered this by spending time with them and allowing myself to "zone out".  The thoughts and pictures that come in will be from them.

I don't know that I could put the feeling into words. I've never thot about "what" I feel.  I can, I think, only say that there's a suspension of the separation between myself and the animal. We are one, exchanging thots. I do speak, they speak in their own way. Sometimes something simple, but sometimes complex.

I do consider it animal communication, altho I think media has given that a bad connotation. There have been too many who make the claim & too many that doubt it. I know animals that I communicate regularly with. Usually at their behest, but sometimes at mine. Afterall, if it were talking with people, it would be called "human communication," would it not? So, I think "animal communication" would be correct..

I've met animals I never knew to any degree, who just tell me something that's troubling them or something funny. When I least expect it too.

Other times, I try very hard to get something and get nothing. I don't know what you want to call it or how you would describe being able to do this. And I don't know that my description of how "I" do it, would be of any help to someone else who wants to do it.

It just happens and becomes more frequent at times. I can trace it back to the first time many years ago. Oh wait, that's the first time I was aware of it happening. I believe it's been all my life. But it is just part of life & it's only recently that I can talk to other people about it without them thinking I'm stark-raving mad. But some of them do anyway -- even my dearest friends.

But then there are others who get it, or at least believe the ability exists. That's where I try to stay these days or else I just don't ever mention it to those who are doubtful.

In 8th grade (a million years ago) a teacher told the class that the hardest thing to do in life, is to change someone's mind. I've found him correct on that all of my life. Probably the smartest thing anyone ever told me in school.

Describe the feeling? I guess all I can say that I feel is joy and I welcome it. Even when what's being said to me isn't all that good. I just feel lucky and blessed that they've chosen me to tell it to.  Oh, and yeah, there's that sense of wonder - every time.  - TT

I agree that everyone is born with the ability to communicate. It's like everyone can do math (except for me) but some people are good and others are very very good, like it is natural for them.  So they kind of have a natural headstart.
But everyone I think has the ability. Some leave it behind them because they don't need it and develop other natural talents they were born with.
Some don't have a chance to develop it say someone who was born and lived their whole lives in a city, not having any access to animals.

Some people are born with the ability to sing, we are all born being able to sing, but no one would want to hear me sing for sure, but others will go on and develop it into a great talent, all were born equal so to speak, but some take it furthur.
And everyone can and should do it their own way and not worry about what others MAY OR MAY NOT think, how do you know really what a person thinks for sure.
To me the most important thing to me is that the ego does not get in the way, and that you do no harm.
If you don't know say so and don't get in over your head.
I know I have done all of the above over the years but after awhile you learn what you can do and not do.
I have learned to just say I am not getting anything.
Oh and you must be willing to be made a fool of, animals are good at that.
And also know that people will take advantage of you. It's just a given.
They will be your friend as long as you give and give and give, if you slow down the giving some will turn on you.
But most people are wonderful and you will meet a ton of great wonderful caring people who are honest and caring about you and their animals.

It's funny in December my Dad(who certainly never says anything about animal communication) informed me that one of my geldings had told him that he didn't like his winter blanket that it slipped back all the time and was choking him and that the other gelding had chimed in and said he didn't want to wear one either.  I said why didn't they just tell me themselves. q5  To which he said they felt bad because I had put really nice blankets on them so they would be nice and toastly and they didn't want me to be made. q5 So...I took the blankets off....we had a mild spell and they were quite hairy in spite of being blanketed anyway.   VERY vocal pair of dudes...

I love all the responses!  I think each person can and could in their own way in their own time.

Kindred -- I love your analogy about being born with the capacity to sing. That's a perfect description. No one would ever volunteer to hear ME sing. They might even pay me to not sing!

thank you, I am glad that I could explain it so at least one person could make it out! Sometimes it's not easy to explain something.

I like your analogy too, Kindred.  We all have the ability to do certain things, such as sing, write, etc........but some will excel and some will just "do".
