I heard a fluteThe other day I was soaking in the tub just letting my thoughts wander...seems I meditate best in water :smt017 .............my oldest had gotten home from school and was listening to his radio while cleaning the kitchen..............anyway I got out of the tub and was drying off and finding clean clothes when I very distinctly heard a flute very clear and it gave me chills..........so I dressed and figured it must have been the radio.........I walked out and my son looked at me funny then I asked him if he had Jethro Tull on the radio ...he says no.....and then I asked if he had been playing his flute....again he says no.........then of course he states the obvious "mom are you hearing things again?"............... :smt017 :smt017 yes I am apparently. Still cannot figure out where the flute came from but it was beautiful :smt002

I bet you were hearing music for the "Other Side"! Many times when I've been in a very relaxed state (usually at night) I've heard symphonic music and sometimes a chorus of joyous singing......very faint, like it's coming from another part of the house.
One time, I had gone to bed and were just mellowing out to go to sleep and I was listening to the faint music......jumped up and checked to see if we had left a radio on in the livingroom. And it's not coming from neighbors because our closest neighbor is about a half mile or more away!
Was wondering if anyone else had had a similar experience.

Yes, mostly when I have gone to bed and said my prayer and done my Reiki and then I start to drift.....the first few times I had to get up and check for a radio too! Then I realized I was hearing the music in my head. I love it! I wonder from where it comes? The guides relaxing after a tough day herding and watching us mortals?

yep! mine is always the same voice, a young native american girl singing very sweetly in a native tongue...my first husband heard it once too when we were sitting on a log very quietly way far up in Northern Ontario just enjoying nature go on around us...

I hear a wooden flute now and again. I esp. remember hearing it when on the old native american grounds by a lake near my childhood home. Sometimes my flute sounds indian and sometimes it is more celtic sounding. My mother was drawn to buying me a wooden irish flute Christmas before last and I feel a certain magic or drawing back when I play it. Funny...I haven't played it since I got sick last summer since my fingers don't work as well with the rheumatory issues. I need to pick that up again... :) What a wonnderful gift!

Re: I heard a fluteHUGE Tull fan here, even named my second son after Ian Anderson :smt002
I hear music like that on occasion too but have no idea what it's all about.

SEveral of us hear the wind. Several of us hear the chatter or music in the quiet end of long days and wonder briefly if we left the radio or tv play only to realize the gift we really hear. I love the flute...so ethereal.

Just dug up this old post. I'm wondering, since it's posted by "guest," I'm wondering if the original poster is still around??? - TT

No, the poster wasn't me. As you know, there is much to connect me with the post, but it wasn't me. If I heard Tull in my house, it could be Ian Anderson, or ME!!!! Just wondering if I might have some connection with that poster, since much time has gone by & I feel we've all gotten to know each other better in the interim.

Many of the older posts say "guest" due to the difficulty we encountered over a year ago if you'll recall and our Path became Drummer briefly before returning as our beloved Path.
