I do!

Since being retired to the Isle of Wight, I have become very well aquainted with the local jackdaws.  They feed in the garden everyday and they leave me lots of presents on the glass conservatory roof q10
They are such clever creatures and so affectionate to each other.  they are always with their partner, which they greet with a tail wagging and a kiss (yes, I'm not kidding)
I have gradually got them used to moving nearer the house and am now communicating with them on a very simple basis - but we are getting there.  Hubby keeps wandering who I'm talking to :q17:  :q17:

Hi! I'm wondering -- are jackdaws the same or similar to crows/ravens? My brother had a great relationship with the crows that lived near him. I'd be interested in hearing more.  = TT

Oh you and our Hobbit would get on splendidly...she is under her blankie for now but I do hope she comes out soon to join us again....

Yes, Jackdaws are of the same family as Rooks, Ravens and Crows (and I think Magpies as well)

If they are anything like our Magpies, the will mimic sounds......even words if they are started young.  If you have any young ones, you might try saying the same words to them every day..........I can just imagine what your husband would do if he heard them saying something understandable!

They only say it to me  q24   Hubby is not a great lover of animals - he's into buses, trams, trains and trolly buses - difficult to speak to them q24  q24
