Hi Andrew here!Hi Aunt Mia
As you asked I joined the group. Such nice folks. Mom is pretty tired, I know I am alotta work but a guy's gotta eat! and I like to eat. Sometimes mom gets a bit put out if I take too long to poo but gee wiz! so to speak  She tries to sleep as much as she can but I know she is tired and she's ouchie. She fell asleep in her chair holding me a while ago...I liked that but she said it would spoil me.  My bed is real nice and warm and I have these soft squishy things to lay on so I am pretty good. Mom puts drops in my eyes every time I eat grrrrrrrrrr but I know she does it to help me. Life isn't too bad right now. I learned to use my voice today! Mom says it's whining? Alls I know is when I do it she comes over to see me..haha, this could be good!

Hi everybody! I am 3 weeks old today! Mom says I am fat as a teddy bear and as big as small guinea pig and eat like one too. I still can't see but mom keeps putting those stupid drops in my eyes. She is also making me wait longer for my bottles, sheesh! something about her needing more rest?
BUT I am trying to be a good puppy. I can whine now when I am hungry but sometimes she just leaves me be (sigh)...something about my learning to self comfort and when mom goes to burp me after my bottle, I grrrrrr and she laughs.

Hey!  Guess what? I am 4 weeks old! Who'd a thunk it eh? Mom has sure been working hard and all you good folks all round the world helping me, thanks. Love Andrew!

Well folks, Andrew is 4 weeks old now. He is using a regular baby bottle with a silicone nipple now, peeing and pooing on his own , up once in a night to eat and thriving! He had another vet check Wednesday and was pronounced quite healthy. He does have an eye in his right but it is blind 100%, his left is not quite normal and we won't know for a while if there is any sight...but we hope for even just light and dark, drops continue. He has learned my scent and voice and comes running. Now he lives in a child's pack n play...for a while more. I sat last night and watched him play! He has many toys as well as beanie babies. They crackle or jingle or squeak so he knows all noises. He grabbed onto his beanie cat and shook it and drug about. See! He is just a puppy with no sight but happy silly boy nonetheless. Thanks for all your support and care...all round the world he has captured hearts....my boy

Ya know, I got a great mom! It has been quite a fun day. First squishing round in that mushy stuff that tasted pretty good then come supper I had another good bottle (yummm) and did my potty in the box THEN Mom put me on the floor with big sis Kasha!!!!!

I had a fun weekend. I spend alot of my days in the blow up pool now playing with toys and running around and playing with Sis. I get tuckered out fast tho. Still like my bottles tho I am sore tempted to chew..the puppy mush (not gruel) is ok but I still like that cuddle and suckle with Mom. I get my first shot this week, hope it don't hurt!  Then Mom says maybe I can go out to play? whatever that means. So far I am doing real well. I potty on the wee pads and not me bed. I only cry if I "really" need something, otherwise my bed mates do well cuddling me. Just thot I'd drop in and say hi.

Yup, Aunti Boo, that is my bad eye but I get on really good! Mom puts a collar on me with a bell when I go play now, sheesh! No fun! SO many things to see, yes see! I can smell and touch and mmm taste! Life is good, I still love me bottles but I see now what Uncle Hermie was talking about, them table legs and couch are nummy tho mum says NO NO! Sigh, that's ok, I have lotsa toys! Remember me when I was this little?

Hi everybody!
I have just had the bestest week! Mom was home still getting better then this kid came. I never knew a kid but this one was SO COOL! Kid's smell and taste great, and man can they play! I enjoyed this one, Mom said he belonged to Grammy? but I could use him hehe. His name is Aidan. We love him. 
AND I am getting huge! I still love my bottles but that puppy mush...ewwww I really like my sister Kasha's bowl...mine's ok but the food doesn't stay in and I can really eat my food good in hers. OH and I got to learn about "outside". Now this is so cool, I am a great boy Mom says, I always poop out there! I can run and run and run and play, I love it! can you believe how big I am now! I was so little!
Tomorrow we get to go back to work, I wonder what I can get into there.... Just another update, love Andrew |

Hi everybody! Been SO busy! Who woulda thot the world outside could be SO neat! Mom won't let me eat the cat poo tho sheesh!
I am over 8 weeks old now and a BIG boy, no more bottles she says so I am eating nice canned food she says is Chicken Soup for Puppies? AND this great all meat hard food I "really" like called "Taste of the Wild", hehe I am pretty wild at times. This has bison and venison I like it! Sister Kasha and I have alotta fun, man is she BIG even tho I can't see her BUT I am pretty big meself, just watch the pics scroll and you'll see our recent battle and who's on top!!! ME! I have noticed something the last couple weeks. First note I do take him to the shop each day. At the shop he is thrilled with humans, bounces about when they speak with him, otherwise..he sleeps in his bed almost all day. Now at home he is the devil, haha, constantly running and playing, getting into things, putting things I never knew were on the floor (where the?) in his mouth and I am constantly after him, potty is more difficult bigger space...now I know the shop has just me and no Kasha and it is so sweet and nice there...but any thots? I should like to find a balance where he does more of the shop behavior at home..hahaha. | ||

If he can go outside more - even in a controlled environment - during the day while you are working? Get some beans worked out of him! He'll calm down more when you get home. It would be nice if you had an outdoor place you could set up a pen in? Not sure what your potty situation is.........Please clarify. Eventually Andrew is going to get old enough that you may have to leave him in an outside space at home while you are at your shop.........Be prepared. Ma--- |

Ah Ma, when at the shop, he is the angel, he visits politely, and then sleeps in his bed as I work. Potty wise I have a halter and lead for him and when he wakes we go out, if he gets caught short I have wee wee pads.
Now to home, we have a HUGE area and it stimulates him to pieces as does his sister Kasha! I am looking into putting up some fencing here in front of the cabin so he can romp free. Potty at home is much the same but he seems to poo by the fire sigh if I don't catch him. I have stopped free feeding him tho I worry needlessly about him getting enough. He is on dry food now as well. 90% of the time if I am working and I don;'t catch his que he uses his papers. Today with the rain, his first time, he did not like it one bit! Right now he is flat out in his play pen sleeping. Did I say I love this kid? He is a trial a true toddler right now into everything but he is learning. Thanks Ma,

well the biggest probelm I see from what you've described is he sleeps too much at the shop :) Working in a doggy daycare I see these dogs being active most of the day and the owners typically report the days they are here their dog is much calmer in the evenings. Like MA said, you need to wear the little guy out more during the day. Not sure how that will fit into your day.
My kids can always tell when I've taken Gryffyn (our corgi) to work with me because he's pooped when he comes home and all he wants to do is sleep the rest of the day. But I have it easy. I work someplace where there are lots of playmates for my dog. Maybe there is some sort of toy or something you can engage him with for periods of time to keep him more active? His particular breed can be very high strung and hyper :). We have three that come in together and we refer to them as the "holy terrors" :) I've come to the conclusion that most terriors can be terrors at times! LOL!! :) Good luck dear lady :) its wonderful how you've bonded with him. You've done good with a life that had been given up to die. So very proud of you :) |

hahahahahahahaha....well I could open the door and just let him run free thru the building? No that won't do..hmm dunno Kath..when at the shop I am at the work table creating or on the puter in search of or tending....I do take him out when he wakes and we run in the grass a bit. Home..well I came home at noon and he played til 2 and is now zonked, I just let him run outside without being the "OH DON'T" Mommy, and then brought him in to play a bit more then put him to bed. I know long walks are great but where I live it isn't really a good thing tho we can go up the paddocks and back which we have done. he has learned to sit and walk on the leash well...toddlers..he'll grow up....terriers I forget how busy they are! Fia (schipperke) was a mellow one (which is unusual) and Kasha is 2 1/2 and mellow unless she's wrastling him haha. I need a fenced yard then he could go hell bent for leather. Best look into that. Hi! Been a while but I have been SO busy! I am 11 weeks old now and a really big boy. I play hard and sleep good. I love my big sister. She plays hard and so do I. Mom made this big pen, I hate it but it keeps me safe. I love to run! Guess what? I can see light and shadow in my one eye! I am going to vet this next week for him to look inside and see but all I know is I can see my white tail tip, fun that! and lights and when my mom walks by and toys and things....well time for a nap, been a busy morning. Hi friends! Been a while. I been busy! Mom says I am "hell on paws?" I'm just busy sheesh! I have this potty paper thing down now, she loves it.
My brother Shain put the big cage around the front porch today so NOW me and sis Kasha can RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN and play, it's cool! I do hate stairs and changes in footing...weird that threshold thing.....but Mom takes me down the stairs and I am free! I really like out! Oh and I learned how to dig holes! dirt is great! Guess what the coolest thing is? I can see outta my left eye, I have tunnel vision like a tube and can only see shapes and movement but I can see to get all around and I see that cat when she comes! hehehe I am being a good boy. I think Mom is kinda happy with me now...she said something about terrible toddlers a while back? I learned to sit and wait and fetch my jingle bag too! Pretty smart kid huh? well it's late and I gotta get to bed...all that fresh air and sunshine today has me tuckered right out. Gnite and puppy kisses Andrew

Hey friends! Guess what! I am 4 months old and I can see out my good eye. Not real clear but movement and shadows and I run like the wind and I am big enough now to give Kasha a run and chew them ears good! Uncle Shain had his laser point thingy out playing with Kasha and I saw this "red thing" and when WHOA! and pounced. Mom yelled yea!!!!! Heck I knew I could see some. It was fun.
Uncle Shain built the big pen around the porch and now we can runnnnnnnn and play..one problem tho..I really don't like snow. Umm I am a bit short and when I umm squat well brrrrrrrrr so I come in and go on the potty papers haha. Mom says she loves me even tho she got up this morning and the last roll of that potty paper she uses was alllllllllllllll over the floor. Man was THAT fun. Oh mind I never yell, I never strike. I pick him up, show him his mess (he can see a bit so no excuses) tell him I am "so ashamed" in a very low growly voice. He has a gazillion toys not to mention his sister dog..and not acceptable.
He says he misses me..sigh..now what can you say to that? I said I loved him and go out whilst I cleaned it up. We cuddled and talked last night, he slept loose and was an angel, he is always an angel at night, he knows mom is just upstairs...then I leave..he don't like that. SO he has a 4'x6' playpen kennel again for now. I do bring him to work 2 days a week but he is awful busy and distracting when there. Now Hermie, you know I am never too harsh , just got rules is all! Shredding is not allowed any more than poo on the carpet and he never does that! SO..we shall see what today's confinement brings and Mia I would be grateful if you'd do that! I leave about 9:30 my time and return about 3. Love from Momma Bear and her tasmanian cub.
