Hermie's waffle cornerAbout three weeks ago
I took time off work
It was to resolve long term issues with our house
The previous owner had took out all the spindles
And replaced them with rough timber
Then covered it with latted wood
Then varnished it all
But never once in the process
Found a use for sand paper
So if you clipped it with a hand, you cut it
If a skirt caught it it pulled the material
So I took two days off work
And the heavens opened
The yard that contained all my tools
Turned into a swimming pool
All my wood got wet
And I had to find a way around the problem

However, after two days, this is what I managed
It all still need paint stripping
Then colour waxing
So it looks as its still victorian

Its a start

As its the factory's annual shutdown
I/We have been a roving
And this will finish with the usual
A tip to Scotland to see our god-Daughter
Where the phones are poor
And the Internet is poorer still
However, the other day we went to York
Not to see the old town
Not to see the castles
Not to set the many churches
But to see a train
A train that toured America between the wars
Was rushed back after the start of WWII
And stripped of all its streamlining
So that it could work for the war effort
Its touring days were over when its boiler certificate ran out
And now its so old they have decieded not to keep her running
So they deicieded to put her in the National Railway Museum
However, put her back as she was intended

We had a great time
All my computer time was spent
Repairing the God-Daughters computer
It was lent out to help her teenager relations with exams
It came back with a changed anti-virus (two running together)
Every down load site available (music and video)
All messenger sites (the list goes on)
And a down load of dial up to fix it
Our God-Daughters mother was having treatment for bad chest pains
With all the drugs and sprays needed to control it
All tests proved negative, but she was already convinced her time was up
All the drug's were not working
Then it turned out that she had been camping two weeks before
At two in the morning she had had to reposition the tent extension
That took four to put up, back into position due to strong winds
Now her chest muscles are torn…naughty girl
So lots of TLC needed there
I got told off in a friendly manner
I sent a letter up a week before we went
Telling out God-Daughter to look after her mother
(How the hell did you know when I did not even tell my daughter?)
As she was not as well as she should be
Then the multitude of time over the days
That I finished her sentences and told her what she was looking for
And where it was, in a house that I do not live
She is a bit black and white and not a believer
However, I had her eyebrows raised many times
hehehe
I'm back and trying hard to catch up

I closed my meditation group down today
After four and a half year’s work
I got down to one person attending
And that became quite irregular
People move on when they have reached that point in life
Some moved away
Some became too busy
Some just became bored with it all
Some reached the point that they needed
After a year trying to increase numbers
I bit the bullet and went to town this morning
I conceded defeat and removed all my advertising
I went around the shop’s and pulled all my cards
Well that’s it then
It lasted four and a half years
And now it’s all over
I really need to pull myself together
Up to 27/07/ each year these are the numbers who had meditations at my home
70 106 85 59 35
2005 2006 2007 2008 2009
Year endings
139 158 143 85 35
2005 2006 2007 2008 2009
Nothing has a value if it's free
If I had charged
Maybe it would have had value to them.
And this arrived in my computer as I was setting up the email to the last person from the now closed meditation group
Elder's Meditation of the Day - July 27
"Let us put our minds together as one."
--Irving Powless, Sr., ONONDAGA
If we sat in a circle and put an object in the centre of the circle and we all described what we saw, everyone would see different points of view from each other. Some would even see opposites because they would be sitting on opposite sides of the circle. In other words, you don't have to see what I see for you to be right. In fact, everyone in the circle is right based on their own point of view. If we are willing to listen to everyone's point of view, then we can get a more accurate description of the object in the centre. This is one way to put our minds together. When we get the clarity from each other, we should give thanks and be grateful to each other.

Oh dear Hermit, over the years people change...life is so loud, I am so sorry...I know the hopes you placed in this meeting. Endings hurt and disappoint.
Yet, I will challenge your thot about there being no value in free...depends on the taker. The greedy one has no values, but the seeker may well be unable to pay at that moment...an exchange of energy makes things balance.
The Elder's words are wise and true....when we choose to walk the path not so well traveled we do risk being left behind or alone but sometimes we meet the likeminded and they will choose to walk along with, maybe for an hour, a day, or maybe more but never give up hope.
My deepest condolences on this loss Hun and I know it is much felt like a death of a child you nurtured and cared for over the years only to see if walk away ungrateful and painful.
Perhaps you did much good with those who came and went, perhaps tis time for something else? Be open to the hope...
Love you my dear Hermit.

Sorry about the delay Sage
I’m hot and tired due to my ever increasing work load
The inclement environment in the factory
Increasing responsibility, etc
Even though I have lost my mediation group
This does not mean I do not frequent other people meditation groups
Once every three weeks I go to a White Eagle group
Sending out healing to many other people
And have a mini meditation towards the end of it all
The last visit to a White Eagle meditation was interesting
I sat opposite the leader of the circle
During the meditation I watched a crystal grow between us
Then a man walked up behind her and stood still
Her voice then change and we all had a message (Rowan & Hermie)
A personal message about continuing our spiritual journey
And she had no idea about what was said
Until we did a talk through the mornings meditation
She just knew she had a gap in proceedings

Oh Hermie...life gets so hard at times don't it? I am glad to hear about the Eagle group, I got prickles hearing about your vision..perhaps it was letting you know that while some things end, others are growing. Lots of loves.

Ok so rewind to when I took time off work to do this job
Turning the staircase back to its orignal state
Once it reaced the above stage
It needed sanding and getting ready to stain
We chose the darkest colour that the sanded wood showed
This was so it all looked the same when finished
So after a week of a well known colour stain being applied
Four coats of this stain and then it required a final coat
So it was a light sand before the final coat
Jo/rowan loved her new stair case so much
Then it all went wrong
The stain started to lift when light sanded
It had not stained the wood
It was still the same colour as it was before staining
So after three weekends of sanding the " coloured varnish" off
As it did not stain the wood
We are around half way through
Undoing a weeks work
And maybe another two lost weekends to come
Instead of admiring our work
We are now spending our time starting afresh
Two new power tools have speeded things up
Paint stripper only smears it into the wood
Making it a lot more difficult to sand off
So every weekend we fill the house full of wood and paint dust
Doing Jo/rowans asthma the world of good
Life is good
The futures bright
The future is dusty

A week ago our Goddaughter came to visit for the day
As an Eight year old girl she came wanting everything
That was the easy thing to do
We live in a sea side resort
Ice-cream, sea, sand & fun on our door step
However, her mother chose last Friday
And we had another visitor on Friday
It was Cunard’s “Queen Mary II”
So I’ll give you a picture of that
There is a mile between the lighthouse and the ship
Just to give you some idea of scale

Woke up this morning
Out beyond my normal life
It was a loverly sleep
Three days into a short break
Out in he wilds of Scotland
Stuck until someone else
Drives me to somewhere
No control and no real wants
Its rained so much the fields flood
No farm movement of road
Its just does ot matter
I wake up early as usual
Talk to friends while others sleep
Watch the world wake up around me
Listen to the milking parlor at work
Up earlier than usual today
The room is bright and clear
No fumbling in the dark for clothes
No disturbing the Rowan
Do the usual early moring things
As everyone sleeps, I tidy around
Empty the dish washed, tidy the kitchen
Take the washing out of the machine
The home is not my own
All is tidy, all is at peace
No one stirs, no one notices
As the computer comes to life
The moon is full, the room is bright
The fields and munro's are visable
As the farm comes to life
The lorry's go to the Irish ferry
The moon is disapearing
Behind the clouds again
The wind picks up again
And the peace is shattered
As the rain tries to find its way
Through the plastic and glass
That shelters me from the world
And all that it wants to throw at me
The lights are starting to go on
The kettle button is pressed
Life returns back to my world
I am no longer alone
The house comes back to life
The school run will come to people minds
Normality will slide back into life
The computer will sleep once again
