Not sure what's going on but I've been very "open" with our animals....

It's been driving both Larry and Amy nuts because they've been insisting on working on some of our minis this week -- both to "doctor on" for injuries and to check on for their pregnancies. All of the horses have not been very compliant......basically jumping and running, if they can, or they are tied, they are rearing and buck/kicking.

I'm trying not to make a big deal about it, but have asked both humans to stop and step back. And with each horse (five of them), I've been able to "talk" to them and take care of their needs without assistance.

Larry laughed about it and said, "Gee, I guess you don't need US around." And unfortunately I just upset Amy.

The most EXCITING incident that happened was with a young gal named Megan. She sadly lost her 20 year old riding gelding to a brain aneurysm last year while he was being boarded here. A few days ago she purchased a wonderful 4 year old mare from a Rescue situation. Megan asked me to ask her new mare what her name was.

At first all I got was the letter "P". So I told Megan that. It didn't seem right to either of us. That night as I was about to go to sleep, the word "MOXY" popped into my head........I knew that the word was coming from her mare, who was not far away outside of the bedroom.

So, the next day when Megan came over, I told her what had happened and suggested that she try the word out on her new girl. OMG! The mare came right to her and "joined up" to her.........followed her all around the pasture. Her name is now "Moxy".

Soon after that Megan brought Moxy into the barn for grooming and I finally was "told" that the "P" was for Penny. She had been called Penny before and did NOT like it. Well.....duh.......that made sense (pardon the pun), because she was a bright sorrel color.
