Deb's giftI have no idea where to post this....
Debs sent me a lovely pendant that I received today. It was so beautiful and I am so grateful for this gift. The strange thing was that the scent from her home brought me to a memory but I don't know if it was an actual memory or someone else's memory, or something else altogether.
I smelled the bag, and I was brought into a field, but unlike where I have been.. as the wildflowers and grasses were much different than what I have know. And I felt like I knew this person I was walking with, but only see the female from the waist down.
This female, ageless, was wearing a long plain skirt and had a bag hanging from the left hip. Almost like a medicine bag sort.
Talk about taking a trip and never leaving the farm. 
Any ideas?

This may seem meaningless to you, but what color was the skirt? What did the cloth seem to be made of?

natural fiber, cotton and neutral tone, I could smell that as well..lol...odd I know...and not necessarily off-white but pale, I just got a glimpse before it was gone.

Fascinating stuff.......... I wonder if you were seeing Debs now or in a previous life....... (I don't doubt that Debs was a medicine woman once.) I hope she can add to this.

You saw Debs very much the way I see Debs  and yes her gifts always bring me a vision of a woman in a long skirt with a long grey braid and a very calming and cheerful demeanor. A field full of wildflowers also fits.

I just got this in email from our Patti and told her it was me in many lives. The eldest daughter for generations was taught the healing then lives changed and it wasn't done as much but my great grandmother gave her gift to me years ago. Long braids, long skirts, medicine bags, wild flowers and fields are how I see me too. I think that they decided to share me with you and I think that is very important.

Ah, this is me and my ancestors, I have the same image in my head and it is me as well, I have grown my hair it is silver, I wear the long skirts now and always have my medicine bundle with me as they did in the generations before me. I would say for them to have shared the scent of the past means we are destined to have come to know each other and perhaps why I was moved to send the small pendant to connect. I have wide fields in front of my cabin, very very interesting my dear. You've made me feel very special Patti, thank you.

That's so neat about how a smell can bring back time and space. Proves we can go back in time. She probably saw Debs but could have been Debs Great Grandmother. Either one is the same. That was very nice of you Debs to send Patti the pendant. I'm sure she will treasure it always.

I will always treasure the pendant. The flash back as well. I tried to go back and touch and smell it some more and there was nothing, except for what is left in my memory. Which is very loovely.

Smells are not goofy....they often are a memory, someone you care about etc.....
I can be sitting enjoying a quiet moment and a smell will appear out of nowhere......it almost always makes me think of a particular person or place.......

On a more scientific note, it's been reported that rape victims, almost always remember the smell of their attackers, more than elsething else about them.
Fortunately, I have never raped, but at one time in my life, something very tragic happened. My father came & hugged me & he had just cooked pork chops.
Here's a "goofy" for you. When I think about that bad time, I always remember the pork chops. I could mentally smell them for years. This happened way before the scientific smell memory theory, so I did think it was superweird. But, there ya go........the fragrance you noted & the woman that came with it.............could be quite real.
