Another Critter Update!Figured out why our Doe was hanging out in our field so much.......She has a wonderful FAWN. I hope she feels that even though we know, it's still safe to come back with it. 
Yesterday, we set our Starling FREE. We put some colored twist ties on each leg. And a few hours later I saw "Baby" fly up to the barn with some other young starlings. It felt good to see him joining others of his kind.
This morning while I was puting my barn jeans on, Larry walked in with "Baby" in his hands! He said he was standing next to the truck by the barn and the little guy landed in front of him!!!
We put him back in his cage, but this time we had the cage on the back porch. He was fed a couple of times and I decided to release him after about an hour or so....
Since then, he's been back TWICE......This last time he literally flew INTO THE KITCHEN and perched on a chair and yelled at us! Each time he's taken three or four big bites of food from us and then flown up into the Willow Tree in our back yard...... We are keeping his cage on the porch now......
This is just too weird........

If not (and some in north America do not migrate) you have it for life

He at first was coming back to the kitchen porch every couple of hours demanding to be fed. I kept showing him where the food was. (I kept a dish available outside for him.)
Saturday I was away for two feeding times and when I got home I noticed some of his food was gone......Sure enough, I caught him eating awhile later. Yay!
He's been eating on his own ever since. I think he's going to go wild eventually.....which is what I want.
