And now it's a HAWK!!!A couple came by last evening and handed me an injured Red Tailed Hawk! They found it on the side of the road along our hay pasture.
It is bright and alert. It's taken some water from a syringe twice and eaten a little bit of dog food.
Brianna and I are taking it to the Sunriver Nature Center today.

Ummm.......Huh???? Please clarify, Sage. I'm so shell shocked right now I'm not getting what you wrote.
Yesterday morning I was greeted by a newborn filly born overnight.
THIS morning I was greeted by yet another newborn foal!
I've been on foal watch for yet a THIRD mare who hasn't done a thing yet.
Last evening, we had the young hawk handed over to us..........
And the last straw was when Brianna's uterine receptical (bio mom) started playing "mind games" with both Brianna (and US) via private messages on Bri's Facebook. Brianna is getting old enough now to recognize some of the mind games. I don't think Jessica realizes how mature Bri is getting.
Let's just say, I went to bed emotionally and physically exhausted last night.

Oh Boo, why is it these things come in rounds....I am sorry for the hurt, but congrats on the foals (love to see). Hawk is my totem, whenever I am having difficulty or can't see clearly...he shows up free flying and calling me to stop and look and listen. You have had so many "animals" of late "speaking" to you or thru you showing signs and needing you....I think a future in more animal communication is what the hawk tells you that you are becoming. Clear as mud? Warm hugs and lots of love my friend.

Yesterday Brianna and I took the hawk to the Nature Center to be cared for by people who know more what to do.......
We discovered we had an 8 to 10 week old female Red Tailed Hawk who wasn't quite ready to be out on its own yet........ They are going to keep her for a week or so, check her over, allow her to mature, and then she comes back here to be released.
Larry got home late last night from working a Star Party in Northern California. It was a sad reunion because he saw that his old cat, "Sweetie" was even worse than when he had left........We both agreed this morning that she needed to Cross Over the Rainbow Bridge. So, Larry has taken her to the vet.
So with two foals born this week (so far), a young starling going free, a rescued hawk, our little Sweetie crossing over........The cycle of Life continues.......

"Sweetie" will join many friends that have gone before
One is never alone on the journey over the rainbow bridge
Friends and loved ones are there to meet you
Sometime there are the many ready meals
That have forgiven you
