Lighting the Path Less Taken

Last night was the New Moon.

So Brianna, my niece Jessica, and I first had a nice big Chef Salad for a late supper.....and then we went outside in an open area on the property and made a fire. I had suggested that we each write down wishes on note paper and that an odd number of wishes was best......

We then burned our wishes in the fire without telling what they were. This led to the three of us just talking about Spirit, Beliefs, and Faith......and while we were talking I carved a circle around the fire with a stick........Brianna and Jess each carved a circle around their seating area as well.......All the circles were close together. I traveled between the three circles. For some reason, I didn't feel a need for my own.

After about an hour we each dug into the earth and helped put the fire out. We chose not to douse it with water for some reason, but instead I covered the circle around it with water.

None of us were following any instruction......we just acted on instinct(?)

My QUESTION is about the circles and what we did. What belief systems guided us to do all of that????

Each of us felt good and comforted from the experience and we went right to bed.......and slept!

I got no idea.
But I am interested. ((hugs))

Oh Ma, sounds like the guides and spirits were with you all, circles are life never ending always flowing and using Mother Earth shows respect for the element of fire. Water is used to put it out fast if needed, earth to honor and snuff shows the utmost respect......I am so thrilled it was so magical for you! Last night you were Mother and Guide....well done!

Jessica and I were curious about the entire evening and how it all just flowed........ Part of it felt guided by Native American and part Wiccan. I do not know Wiccan at all.........Both of us know and honor the Native American........

Aren't the circles thought to be protective in both wiccan and Native American? It sounds like it became a very moving experience for all.

Don't know alot about Wiccan but yes we love our circles...

Sounds like a very calming evening. Not sure about the circles other than maybe they represent the earth and you were a part of it. Thank you for sharing your evening.

circles are life no beginning no ending.......circles are sacred......circles are protective....circles are found in every belief system.....

3 is important in majik.......then there is the triad of womanhood.....and you sort of had that going on....add a fire....some serious intent...and majik happens

anyway circles are used for protection and to symbolize the continuous nature of life, death, rebirth......

It is similar to spontaneous writing or painting.....it happens in that place where you are not actively thinking or trying.....some people call it channeling but everyone is capable of doing it ...so .....in the right frame of mind all manner of majik and miracles happen......
