Lay abed last night before sleep, rethinking things as I do, clearing my mind to set my Reiki to me and another, and I remembered something our Sue said:
"Personally i allways think the ceremoney, symbols etc are to get you into the place/frame of mind you need to be to send/give.
If you can get to that space without all the above then that is great."
****************************************************
Many of you know I use ceremony for many things. LOVE my ceremony or ritual to prepare. With Reiki I always used to prepare greatly, focus and find my clear place, draw the symbols, maybe a Reiju, and then call it forth....
Now, it seems if I want or need it I simply think it with pure intent and it is just there for me, like a warm to hot pulsing blanket and my hands are just on...I can use a teddy or other surrogate or even my own body to send, but if it's for me I just open my arms to embrace the energy and let them fall and lay where they will and enjoy the pulsing warmth.
Reiki is not work, it just is. It does not drain you if you use it or send it, it feeds and fulfills the user/sender. I have offered to some who will say "oh don't tire yourself, you need it"...Folks...Reiki is like love, there's always more and there's always enough for everyone. It never runs out or quits until it's done it's best to help and heal then fades away til next time...and there's always more next time you think it.
So, when I (or others) say I'll send you a bit, a boost, a blast, a bit of energy, some Reiki, they can....they like it, we like it; for to send is to recieve. How many things in the world are that much of a circle, a spiral actually. Love it!

I agree I lose nothing when I say I will send to someone, if anything it fills me more because I stop and take the time to tune in..... I am not a huge fan of ceremony and save that for very special times..... the majik isn't in the tools it is in you as they say...
good stuff mama bear

I have always used the symbols when sending Reiki distance - guess what - forgot to use symbols the other night - and guess what - it worked a treat - so we can all learn eh Steve , even after 20 years
As far as draining the sender - no it doesn't drain you to send, but I never send unless my energy is good - which oh boy, its so good at the mo
PS Love your photo Debs - can you find a nice one for me?

I've looked at my pliers more than once but I am a big chicken...... even as a kid my teeth had to be hanging by a silk thread before I'd pull them out
