If you recall, Sage had posted about scents coming to you. I responded that I had been getting a strange scent of burning every now and then. I thot it was coming from outside, since I had the fan in the window, blowing in.

Now it's got a whole new lightt on it. For some, this might be hard to take, but to me, it is welcome. The scent comes occassionally and randomly, but always at night and is so strong it wakes me up. Yes, it's still there when I awake, so I'm not dreaming it.

Last week, it came. It was so strong, I couldn't stand it. I got up & walked around the upstairs where my room is. I sniffed right at the windows, but no scent. Then I closed the windows & it was still just as strong. I walked around sniffing. Ursa joined in sniffing too. The scent ONLY came from my BED.

I even wondered, was my bed on fire?? Freaked me out. No fire. No scent elsewhere. I had to go back to sleep, it was 2 or 3 a.m. On the way, I grabbed my spirit amethyst. I held it, willing to experience whatever soul came forward.

IMMEDIATELY, I knew my Dear Prudence, my Am Staff, who passed almost 4 years ago, was there!! She's has only come two times in 4 years. I was so excited, I cried. But smiled thru it. What a wonderful event! She was happy & whole. When she had visited briefly before, she was pale and frail and somehow "see thru." Not this time. We hugged and were so joyful. She stayed a long time, not just fleeting as before.

Today, I realized the date of that visit was 4 years to the day of when the vet had told me my Dear Prudence had cancer. She went downhill quickly after that. But July 17 was a significant day in our lives together. We knew the parting would come soon.

I'm wondering this, could the burning I'm smelling over my bed, be the funeral pyre for Pru?? I had her cremated because I couldn't bear the thot of leaving her behind if I moved. And I am moving asap, so I did the rigtht thing. Could the sickening burning smell be that? She spent every night of her life sleeping on that bed. Except at the very last when she could't walk the stairs, so I slept on the floor downstairs with her for a month or so.

Now Ursa occupies the bed with me. But Pru seems to be there too. How wondrous!! Your thots?? - TT

p.s. While writing this, I felt a dog nose push on my thigh as I sit in the chair. I went to pet Ursa as I would do. Um, she wasn't there. She's out on the porch sleeping. But I did feel the push.

Yes,no doubts from me, how many times did I say Pru when I thot I meant Ursa? I am so happy she came to you, now you know wherever you are in the world, your 2 loving ladies are with you in bed each nite. I would imagine that is quite a comfort. I am so glad you shared this. I think each of us has that scent thing at times but are so busy we pass it by, let us stop and see what a scent is.... q13

You have been blessed. Sounds like a wonderful time for both of you. The scent could be in your head and when you think about Prudence the odor appears which in turn brings her to you. Sense she was cremated, you are visualizing the burning which puts the odor in your mind. Our brains can work this way.

Yes Sue, your girl Sadie, stays yet, she is not ready to leave 100% of the time. Same for Pru, she just has to come check and do the nudge for a love. How lovely that is.

Sounds like Pru answered the smoke question with a nose bump...."well of course its me silly"....this made me smile glad she still visits.
