Each and every day I pull out this book, "Earth Medicine" by Jamie Sams, and let it fall to a page with the intent for it to show me, teach me...today's is worth a share...(if you'd like more just holler)

A healing prayer

Mother, teach me how to heal
the feelings inside of me;
teach me how to respect all of life
with burgeoning humility.

Show me the path away from abuse
where everything sings of life
where heartache is just a memory
of ancient human strife.

Let my spark be healed
until dying holds no fear
where rebirth is welcomed
bringing me joyous tears.

These are the things that I desire
for I want to truly know
the pathways and healing passage
through the dark night of the soul.

Contentment

Contentment comes from an inner serenity that permeates the whole person.
The Ancestors spoke of this state of grace and called it "Walking in Beauty".
When people are at peace with the world, the inner peace that they carry shines, allowing all who see them to recognize their contentment.
Contentment comes from being at peace with the Self and with all life, honoring one's connections to the whole without judgments.

Contentment is Cow Medicine

, teaching us to find the joy of "being" rather than the joy of "having". Be a cow!

Possessing Time

Humankind can only possess time by being fully aware of the actual moment we are experiencing.

In that moment, we all stand in the Sacred Human Presence, dedicating ourselves to the continuation of sharing and creating the sacredness of our combined human potential.

We welcome and become the Eternal Now.

I am very glad you like these Cats. I enjoy closing my eyes and letting them choose me, they always fit. q13

Unlimited Sight

True sight is many-faceted
Taking forms in many ways
Like mental image pictures
The ideas our thoughts convey

The mind's eye can embrace
The dreams of what will be
The visions and aspirations
Or the daydream's fantasy

We can see with our eyes
Or with a heart that can feel
We can use our fingertips
To see the body's need to heal

We can use our spirits
To see other tangible worlds
And we can use our reason
To see how solutions can unfurl.

Some say seeing is believing
But the true witness surely knows
Through believing, we can see al the facts
Of the worlds our imagination can show

Tell me a story, sweet Mother
Of the Ancestors and their days.
Of how they Walked in Beauty
Learning the Medicine Ways.

As you relate the stories
I am allowed to see
The importance of every lesson
And how it applies to me.

Through another's example
I share the laughter and the tears.
Through another's experience
I can learn how love can conquer fear.

Together we can journey
Through those other times
Reclaiming all the wisdom
Of the legacies left behind.

You're so welcome. I find this such a great book, I hit a wall, a snag, have a question..I close my eyes and just open the book and usually the words speak to just what I wanted. I'll keep it up then... q18

Defeated by Age?

Her old bones creaked
And her pace was slow
But her smile was blindingly bright.
Her mind was sharp
And her voice was kind
Her manner was a true delight.

The world had changed
In the winters she'd known
But she bore their weight with pride
She shared her wisdom
And passed the goodness on
Using her love of life as her guide.

She did now bow to time
Using life as her stage
She sought each morning's joy
And she was never defeated by age.

Possessing Time

Humankind can only posses time
By being fully aware of the actual moment

Walks Tall

You walk in beauty, Mother

The glory of Great Mystery
That sets your spirit free.

Guided by the bliss inside you
Walking it through your deeds
Never needing another's approval
Your heart's truth takes the lead.

With focus and directness
You teach me how to walk
Balancing thought and action
Instead os misusing talk.

I stand straight in your presence
I hold my head up high
With my feet rooted in Mother Earth
My arms embracing Father Sky.

Humility

The shadow of the hummingbird
Darting into the flower
Flickers on the Sacred Earth
As I wile away the hour.

Here, within the Stillness
My thoughts return to me
Is it true the nectar of life
Is drunk through humility?

The smallest of winged creatures
Is a testament to the truth
Knowing that it's humble love
Outlasts the arrogance of youth.

When we approach Creation with reverence and humility, the joy of creativity is easily accessible. When we think we know it all, our creations fall short, because our arrogance controls the creative flow. How are you approaching the creation of "your life"?
