I dreamed I turned over a clock and it read 3:03.  Not sure if it was am or pm.  The next thing I remember I turned over the clock again and it was 3:33 pm.  I remember talking with someone and was apologizing for falling asleep.  Don't know if the numbers mean anything but the sleeping and waking up in my dream just plain weird. q25

Any one have any ideas what this could mean?

If one is into numerology, there are universal meanings to different numbers.  There are also personal "mystical" numbers for each of us........numbers that mean something special to us as individuals.

Is the number "3" special to you?

The number "3" does come up for me some.  I have to put things in "3's" in my house.  3 towels, 3 things in a center piece, and so on.

I don't know about the dream though, because I dreamed I was asleep and woke up in my dream but I was still physically asleep.  Could be lucid dreaming to a point.  Don't know.

One thing I noticed today I have felt the best I have felt in a very long time.  Very upbeat and very positive..... :)

I have often dreamed over the years that I wake up inside the dream. Last week, however, was the strangest one I've had in a long time along those lines.

In reality, I got up around 7 a.m.  Did regular morning things then had some breakfast. I sat down to watch TV. I got sooooooo sleepy that I had no choice but to lay down on the couch. Ok, I thot, little nap coming on. Unusual so early in the day, but I figured my body needed it if it asked for one.

Laid down with blanket & Ursa dog on couch. I dream again and again and again that I was trying to wake up. One spurt of reality, I heard my friend leave a message on my machine, but I couldn't get up to answer the phone. I just kept TRYING so hard to get up, but couldn't.

Guess what? I slept ALL DAY. Actually until 5 p.m.!!! It was awful. A true day-long struggle. BTW, I went to sleep in my bed for the night at about 7:30 p.m. I was exhausted.

In answer to your question, yeah, I dream I'm awake. Or trying to be. Dreaming I'm awake is not new to me, but trying so hard for so long to get awake, while apparently still sound asleep? Gees. I was really glad when I finally did wake up & found Ursa curled up behind my knees.

And there on the light on the answering machine was my friend's message flickering away.

TT:  It is called sleep paralysis, OBE .  This usually happens when you are under a lot of stress.  You try to wake up but can't.  You usually feel a lot of weight pressing down on top of you.  I have found to not fight this dream state and just let it go.  It's very scary at first, but once you realize it just a dream you learn how to handle it.

I've done this for most of my life.  It comes and goes, but when it does happen I know it and I can control it.  It's also referred to Lucid dreaming once you take control the dream.  ''

Not sure why you sleep all day other than to believe you needed it.

Hope this helps.

Haywire -- Yes, it helps. I'm wondering tho. If this is an OBE, is it my "self" trying to get off that couch but the body isn't ready yet? I was struggling sooooo hard to wake up. And yes, there was a huge weight setting on top of me. Whether on my body or on my loosed spirit, I don't know, but it kept me there on the couch.

This is odd you mention lucid dreaming. I've been trying for that for about 3-4 months. I can see it occuring in other ways, but I was not aware that it could manifest itself in this way. Hmmmmmm.......

TT, you're in transition and I will agree with our Haywire.  Those dreams just "keep" you there and the extra sleep is perhaps one way that your guides are using for you to resolve the stress and sadness and overwhelming feeling of change at this time that makes you feel oh so very tired.  Obviously Ursa agress or she would've been anxious and tried awakening you.

Bless Ursa's dear heart, she will do whatever it is I am doing. Even to the point where when I'm looking around the house for something, she starts looking too! Searching in open drawers, in closets. it's so funny! Sometimes she finds whatever it is! Sometimes she has no idea.

TT:  I would like to mention that it has been said that when you are having a sleep paralysis that it is the spirit returning to the body, and the body is fighting it.  When you try to wake up but can't try to tell yourself this is a dream or OBE and try to change the dream.  This is where you can control what you dream about.  Lucid Dreams.  I've been able to do this for a long time.  The first couple of times I was very scared as I couldn't figure out what was holding me down and I could actually see the room but it was hazy like.  Once I decided to not fight the weight and not try to wake up,  I could go into a nice dream and I would know I am dreaming.  Hope this makes sense.

Perfect sense.  As I said, I am accomplishing "beginner's" lucid dreaming. I have taught myself to control the dream to a degree. I often dream I'm awake & the room where I fell asleep is exactly as it was when I fell asleep. If there was a sock beside the bed when I was awake, it's there in my dream.... does that make sense?

So, that's been going on forever, but now I can somewhat control things when I realize I'm dreaming. It's a great relief when I can do it & I avoid many dreams that I believe would turn nasty and make something else of them.

But I will think on what you've said. I'm a little confused tho by this sentence, Haywire: "when you are having a sleep paralysis that it is the spirit returning to the body, and the body is fighting it."

Do you mean my body didn't want my spirit back or my spirit didn't want my body back?  The first is really scarey. The 2nd seems like a new freedom.

Haywire, this is very intriguing.  I also learned long ago to control my dreams.  It happened quite by accident.  As a child I had nightmares probably what today are called night terrors.  I just know that they often were those "something you cannot see is about to get you and you want to run but suddenly your body is a big puddle of useless goo" then you wake up abrubtly in a sweat, heart racing and hyper ventilating q9

Well as a teen one of these dreams kicked into high gear and I was trying to run, then crawl, then all of a sudden I was like...WTF, this is stupid this is just a dream there is no monster, and the dream fizzled away and moved on to something more pleasant. q25  ever since I have been able to mostly control  q25  not really the right word, more direct my dreams.  I now often take those types of dreams and willingly submit to whatever the scary thing is......I have been shot in the head at point blank range, that was kinda weird, I have fallen and hit bottom, again kinda weird, I have drown many times (ok once for real LOL), and if nothing else I have proved to myself all the falacies are not very accurate  q21

Now days when I wake up in a puddle of sweat it has alot more to do with hormones than dreams q5  q5

TT:  I'll try and explain what I believe happens.  Someone else probably has a different view and idea, but this is my belief.

When you have a regular dream you just dream about things you cannot control.  You wake up, maybe remember maybe not.

When you have an OBE and have control of your dream your in a different realm than a normal dream.  Your sole has entered into another dimension, say 4th dimension, and returning your sole back to your body is hard on the body because it is the 3rd dimension and asleep.   When the sole comes back it wakes the body up, but our body cannot think because it is asleep.   This weight is the sole returning.

I believe when you see things in your room exactly they way they were when you went to sleep is you are probably opening your eyes and actually seeing the room.  Kind of like sleep walking, except you remember seeing while you were asleep.

Herding Cats:  I've been shot also, while diving off a diving board.   q9 The best dream is when you can fly.  I've only a couple of these.  Once I was a big cat, like a tiger, and I could see what the tiger was seeing while running thru the jungle.  It was the best dream I ever had.
